I have stumbled upon a gathering called - IF. A
fleeting glance at the website gives you a glimpse of simple beauty in flowers
and smiling women and welcoming tables. Women
are being drawn to this.
For me, though, it is the fragrance that comes over me as
I discover more. It smells a great deal
like Servanthood and Allendale to me. The fragrance of Christ is all over it. It is the breaking of walls between
denominations and backgrounds. It is the
empowering people of all sorts to impact their worlds. I have had very little contact so far with
the events of the group, but the scent continues to draw me.
I have friends that have engaged in the ideas of IF and
have gathered women in their homes. I
have heard beautiful stories and I smell Jesus as they tell the stories. My mouth salivates as I imagine the tastes of
heaven that are being experienced.
There is power here;
I can sense that. The Holy Spirit
is inhabiting these gatherings. The
enemy of our souls is fighting against them. I see the nameless, faceless generation rising. This is not about IF or my friends,
but about living real for Jesus wherever we are. It aligns with the vision of ARISE (our youth
group) - "To shine the love of Christ to whomever, whenever, wherever we
go." All these threads are being
woven together to make something more beautiful that we can imagine.
On September 23rd, I'm going to pray with some of these
women. I don't know them and I don't
like strangers. However, I love
Jesus and this is not about me but about Him.
I have this tiny little dare to dream about what God might do if....
Wanna come with me?
7pm at The Watershed
