Listening....

Yesterday, I had a chance to listen.  I even experienced the gift of being aware that it was a chance and a gift to be able to listen.  I wasn't required to respond or have answers or figure out solutions.  I just got to listen and I got to know some hearts just a little bit more.  I watched beauty unfold and truth win and saw God at work.  For a few moments, I was able to revel in the almost incredible gift it was that people would share their lives with me... that God had healed me enough that I could hear them and be present.    

It's amazing to consider the gift it is to be able to share life with people and watch God weave tapestries through us all.  I hope that my heart and ears will remain open.  Maybe you can notice yourself listening today and realize what a gift it truly is.
